Dr. Jamie Lenz
Health Without Drugs or Surgery!
I was always interested in natural health. I thought because I did not get “sick” or need to see a medical doctor I was healthy.
I chose chiropractic medicine because it was an approach to health that did not involve drugs or surgery. I was very intrigued in how a doctor could treat a person without medications and surgery.
I attended the University of Wisconsin- Madison and graduated in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and psychology. While at school I was involved with the marching band and had the opportunity to travel across the country to bowl games, NCAA tournaments, and other performances.
I then attended Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) in Bloomington, MN for my chiropractic degree graduating in 2006. Before graduating, I volunteered in Costa Rica at La Clinica de La Mariposa (The Butterfly Clinic).
Working With Pregnant Mothers and Children
I have my 180 hour certification with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). Before coming to Madison, I was highly involved in the birthing community in Northern California (Sacramento area). I am certified in Webster Technique, which is a technique designed to align a woman’s sacrum and pelvis for a better birthing position. I have worked with hundreds of pregnant women and children.
I also love working with athletes of all abilities. I have worked with many professional athletes, youth sports, recreational and “weekend warrior” athletes. My techniques are in Active Release and Graston. I completed my 120 hour Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner certificate in 2009. The combination of certifications and experience also makes it great for working with active families.
Personally
I have a wonderful husband, George, and five beautiful children. We are an active family that enjoy the outdoors, camping, hiking, canoeing, and traveling. All of our children were born at home and are free from any type of drugs. They have been adjusted since in utero. I was adjusted throughout my pregnancies and can tell you of the many benefits of adjustments for minimizing a pain during birth and the length of birthing time.
My wellness journey has taken many years and I am still on it. My goal is to treat each person with respect and to leave a positive lasting impression. I am a faithful person and have done a lot of volunteer work over the years before entering chiropractic school. I was in New Zealand on a medical mission ship for half a year, then I was the graduate/ young professional facilitator at St. Paul’s Catholic Campus church for a year, and then I taught English in Ukraine with the Ukrainian Catholic University for a summer. As a family we hope to continue to serve our community.
My family and I get adjusted regularly 2-4 times a month. We believe in letting the body heal itself and removing any interferences that might disrupt the body’s normal physiology. We exercise on a regular basis and do many fun activities with our children that involve physical activity. We try to eat a healthy diet with no or low preservatives and no hydrogenated oils.
